Ordinary actions cause extraordinary effects
Welcome to my website, monarcacollection.ca. as you, reader, probably found out by now, I would like to change our mindset, as how we consume goods, how to be more sustainable, reuse things, and maybe we will have a shot to save this beautiful planet we call home. And there is no better way to start this blog with a situation that happened to me today. First, a little background: what could you do with more than 2000 liters of water? A person drinks less than that in 2 years. We could take showers for a month with that amount. How many plants could we water with that? It takes more than 2000 liters of water to manufacture a t-shirt. And, today, I found several pieces of clothes, behind a trashcan, discarded like a dry leaf that falls in the forest on the autumn. Clothes that were wet because of the rain that probably would rot. That could have been donated, upcycled, worn, recycled.. and so, so many other things.. these clothes, shoes and apparel where all thrown out on the grass. Not even into a recycle bin. This just draws my energy away from me. When we, humans, will understand that the amount of water and materials used to make those clothes are valuable? When will we rethink our actions? That is why it makes me so apprehensive with our future and our next generations.. our kids. I will try to show that it is possible to live with what we already have here, in this material world.
